It was on the 12th May 1907 that the wine-growers' cooperative of Torrazza Coste started its activities. Onehundred years later, on sunday the 13th May, Torrevilla celebrates that day as the beginning of a fascinating story: the story of the Oltrepò Pavese territory, of its people and of its quality wines, which today are distributed in Italy as well as abroad. It is infact the commitment of more than three hundred wine-growers – this is today the number of members of our cooperative winery – which has accompanied our winery to this first prestigious finishing line, as a basis for a future of success and acknowledgement.

The year 2007 is therefore the year of acknowledgement towards those who have contributed to Torrevilla's success. This is why all events are dedicated to the numerous customers and to all members, with a main celebrating cultural event, which will take place in Torrevilla's winery on sunday the 13th May.
Among the most interesting moments of that day there will be the presentation of the book “Torrevilla: history of people, vines and wines”, a historical publication of “onehundred years of wines” of the winery; a technical meeting with the participation no only of authoritative people but also of experts for a re-reading in a modern transposition of the inspiring principles of cooperation and associationism as dynamic and winning elements in economy; and for the grand finale there will be a concert of classical music in the very special atmosphere of the Wine Tower, an appropriate conclusion of a day dedicated to gathering, coexistence and confrontation brightened up by wine-tasting, tasting of other products and visits to the winery and to the museum.
Torrevilla has also decided to create a specific lable for the Centennial wine “Cento Vendemmie” (one hundred grape-harvests): a prestigeous Reserve wine which will be presented on this particular occasion as a toast to a century of activities.
There will be many events which share the same goal: to celebrate not only a historical appointment but also the achievement of quality as well as commitment, which are the specific characteristics of the first and next hundred years of Torrevilla's existence.
