Torrevilla Winery represents a story of collective effort that officially began in 1907, when winemakers proudly embraced their sense of belonging and their connection to Oltrepò Pavese, a land rich in history and winemaking tradition. With its gentle slopes and temperate climate, the region has always been the ideal habitat for vine cultivation.
Torrazza Coste
For over 100 years, the Torrevilla Winery has been based in the municipality of Torrazza Coste, in the heart of Oltrepò Pavese. This area is also recognized as one of the best regions in the world for growing Pinot Noir, thanks to its unique climatic and geographical conditions that promote the optimal development of this noble grape variety. Torrevilla’s presence in this strategic location underscores its commitment to crafting wines that reflect both the excellence and the tradition of the territory.
The territory About Us
Centuries of History
The Oltrepò region has been a crossroads of cultures and trade since Roman times, but it was during the Middle Ages that viticulture truly began to flourish, thanks in part to the influence of monks who introduced advanced cultivation methods.
Oltrepò Pavese, with its clay and limestone soils, provided the ideal habitat for Pinot Noir, one of the most noble and capricious grape varieties in the world. From the 19th century onward, when local agriculture and winemaking knowledge began to prioritize quality over quantity, the region offered the perfect conditions for this grape to express its finest potential.
